Maggie O'Brien

A well-established and much sought after exhibiting artist whose work has been shown widely in Cornwall and beyond, Maggie works both from direct observation and from her memory and imagination to create atmospheric landscape paintings and drawings. She is less interested in  the specifics of place than the possibilities of landscape as a vehicle for  emotional expression. Her work is a response to the elemental and to the changing effects of light and weather.

Maggie lives and works in a rural location on the coast near St Loy and is a tutor and mentor at the Newlyn Art School.
